Emotion in Motion
Motion Graphics, Data Study
This project contains several motion graphics under one theme: the organization of my room. It was a long term inquiry, recording how messy my room was, and how I was feeling during its state. Once I established the data and theme, I documented items around my room, tracked the "negative space," and recorded my emotions.
Target Audience:
This project was a self-analysis of my personal space and workflow. Though I believe it is helpful for a broader audience, the main goal was to visualize this relationship for myself. In creating flashy graphics, I hope to interest others in analyzing their environment.
Process:
For 2 months, I gathered data by tracking the state of my room every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I wrote down how I was feeling at that particular moment. I documented the clutter by recording each item laying on floor. I drew an outline of where there was a clear path to walk, the “negative space” of my room. With this data, I visualized several studies, compositions, and motion graphics. It was important that they were cohesive, yet could stand on their own.
